FAQ
What is the difference between Profhilo injections and other dermal fillers?
The big difference is that Profhilo treatment uses an entirely natural skin substance (hyaluronic acid), while traditional dermal fillers also have additives and components mixed in. Because of this, Profhilo spreads through the skin more quickly, naturally, and harmoniously, without impacting facial contours, while dermal fillers remain in one place and visibly impact facial structure.
What are the risks and side effects of Profhilo treatment?
There is a very low risk of allergic reactions to Profhilo treatment, and patients sometimes experience redness and sensitivity in the treated areas. Swelling, itchiness and light bruising are possible side effects, but they should only be temporary—they usually fade away within hours.
Is Profhilo painful?
In general, no. Most people do not notice pain during Profhilo treatment, but there can be a little pinch as the needle is inserted, and there may be some tenderness or discomfort for a short while after the procedure.
How many sessions are required?
Two sessions are the standard for Profhilo treatment, with around four weeks between them. But you can have additional sessions in the future to renew the effects.
What kind of anaesthesia is used?
In most cases, none because the needles are fine, and the procedure is not usually painful. However, a mild numbing cream may be applied to the injection sites if needed.
How long does it take?
The treatment is a matter of minutes. A typical Profhilo procedure should be over in about 15 minutes, though it may take longer depending on the area of skin targeted.
How long do the Profhilo results last?
Between half a year and a year. After that, you can always have a follow-up session with Profhilo to renew the effects.
When can I go back to my regular activities?
Almost immediately, but it is wise to avoid certain activities that are very intense or could get the injection sites hot or wet, like swimming or using a sauna.
